My Product Recommendations
In this list of items you'll find things I think will definitely help your postpartum period go much smoother for baby and parents!
My absolute favorite and most recommended carrier for babywearing: The Baby K'tan! It is so comfortable and so much easier than traditional wraps!
|
While I find the Baby K'tan to be super easy, you might prefer the versatility of a classic wrap like the Moby. Once you've practiced the technique a few times, it becomes second nature. A classic wrap is also really great if you and your partner want to babywear but are different sizes.

You may not think you need a diaper pail, but you'll quickly realize that a simple flip-top trash can just doesn't cut it. The Dékor diaper pail is my favorite option--it's super easy to drop in your dirties! Plus you can get biodegradable bags!
|
You will probably roll your eyes at this one--I know I did: the Bumco Diaper Cream Bum Brush. Yes, it's a butt spatula. You don't realize how terribly inconvenient it is to have diaper cream on your hands until you don't have to deal with it anymore!

Of all the stuff you can get for postpartum, the single item that I think helps the most is a peri bottle. If you give birth in a hospital, they will give you a bottle to take home, but this bottle from Frida Mom has a unique hooked nozzle to make cleaning yourself so much easier.
|
The Tushy bidet can easily be added to your toilet, so you don’t have to mess with an awkward peri bottle. Upgrade to the 3.0 model and clean yourself with warm water (it's definitely worth it if you're dealing with stitches). It's an accessory the whole family can enjoy!

The haakaa is a classic must-have for every breastfeeding parent! In addition to being a manual pump, its most helpful function is catching the letdown milk from one breast while you feed on the other.
|
Speaking of breastfeeding, it's no secret that it can wreak havoc on your nipples. That's why this nipple butter from Earth Mama is such a lifesaver! And it's safe for baby, so there's no need to clean it off before feeding.

This night light was so useful, we ended up getting a second one! The touch control means you're not fiddling with finding buttons, it actually gets dim enough to be a gentle light that doesn't wake everyone in the room for nighttime feeds and diaper changes, and it comes off of the charging base, making it oh so portable! It also makes for a very entertaining toy when littles start getting their hands on things!
|
One must-have for every family with a newborn is a noise machine. Usually white noise is just the ticket to help baby sleep soundly, but having options doesn't hurt ;)
|
The Cadillac in nightlight/sound machine combos: the Hatch. I especially like the new 2nd generation version because it's portable like the Jolly Well night light above. The clock is a helpful feature and you can control it from your phone (but you don't have to).

I prefer to mix my own oil for baby massage, but I realize that that's not how everyone operates, especially new parents. I love that this Birth & Baby Oil form Motherlove is only two ingredients and is helpful for birth as well!

Anything from Kyte Baby! Their fabric is so soft and the footies are somehow cuter than others? The lightweight fabric is absolutely great for warm weather babies.
