Book Review: The Best Book to Guide Through Pregnancy

"Nurture" really is an all-encompassing guide through your pregnancy journey--so much so that I plan to keep it by my side throughout my next pregnancy, even with everything I already know!

The book is divided into parts that address each phase of the pregnancy journey, from the positive test through the postpartum period. What I found to be particularly helpful was "Part Two: Through the Months" in which author Erica Chidi Cohen breaks down not only each trimester, but each month within and outlines expectations, walks the reader through what actually happens in their body, and offers self-care remedies as well as yummy recipes! All of this can be daunting to dive into right away, but the book is written such that one could approach it one section at a time as they are nearing each phase and month.

There are so many wonderful tools in this book that I don't really see how a book about pregnancy could be any more helpful, to be honest. My one critique would be about cesarean information. She does touch on cesarean birth options and expectations, but it would be great to have more detail. With that said, I think this is absolutely the best book to read for guidance through pregnancy (not necessarily birth). I think Cohen has the perfect balance of natural and holistic advice while being real about the medical world we live in.
